Geräte ohne Kamera verbinden
Connect devices without a camera
How to connect Mac, Linux, Windows, or a second browser window when QR scanning is not convenient.
Who is this for?
For desk setups, nearby servers, Linux PCs, virtual machines, and no-camera situations.
The problem
QR codes are fast, but not always practical. Desktops often have no camera, virtual machines cannot scan, and moving between two tabs is easier with a link.
The ClipToss way
ClipToss therefore offers a short address, secure link, and word code next to QR. The interface stays calm while transfers still work without a camera.
Step by step
- 1Start a transfer on the sending device.
- 2Open the Word code tab and show 4 to 6 words.
- 3Type the words on the target device or open the secure link instead.
- 4After pairing, send text or a small file.
Practical tips
- The fragment after the # contains the private key and is not sent as a normal path to the server.
- The word code is designed for typing; the full secure link remains better for copying or sharing.
- On shared devices, close the browser tab after the transfer.
FAQ
Why is the copied link longer than the visible address?
The visible address identifies the short-lived session. The additional part behind the # contains the security fragment for encryption and is handled separately by the browser.
